Turning 30 today
May 14, 2010 – Friday
My birthday. I was born on same day in 1980, a Wednesday. Entering into 30s. What does it signify? Nothing. To anyone? None. Its yet another day. Birthdays are celebrated with joy. Something like an achievement. Is it? No. I was born by chance. A pure luck. My parents can celebrate my birth. Not me. Every passing year is like a page added to a book. Something has to be written in those pages. A book with blank pages is useless. So what have I done in this 30 years?
I don’t remember first few years. But remember my stay at our home in Lakshmipuram, Madurai. My grandfather’s home. Studied at Gughan and later at Harvey. Then we moved to Calcutta (it was not Kolkotta then) where I studied at Lake Gardens and later at National. Then for a year we were at Kovilpatti where I studied at Seventh Day. Then we moved to Vedaranyam. The village which I still and will always cherish. There I studied at St. Antony. There I was school pupil leader just because I can say Pledge aloud in English. Then we again moved back to Madurai and stayed at my dads home in Krishnapuram colony. I studied at V K K Play Group first at Chokkikulam and later near Mappillai & Manikka Vinayagar Theatre. I collected most of my sports certificates when in this school. Then joined Madras Institute of Technology. Major – Instrumentation. Four years ran away. Came to Mumbai for a job. Searched job for a year when I stayed at my cousins place in Panvel. Got a job at petrol pump in Andheri. Sent to Goa for a couple of months by the company. Got offer from Reliance. Joined Jamnagar as trainee. 2 months classroom training there. Dont remember much of it but recall watching Lagaan and Ishq Vishq at Learning Centre. Sent to IPCL Baroda Cracker plant for 6 months. Then to Hazira Poly Ethylene plant for 6 months. Then moved to Mumbai DAKC for a year. During this 1 year I roamed entire North India to install petrol pumps for Reliance Retail. Then again sent to Hazira for 3 years (a year in Poly Propylene, a year in Purified Terephthalic Acid plant commissioning and another year in its maintenance). I got married with Sasi. I was later sent to Bangalore for 3 months training. Then posted in Corporate Affairs at Mumbai Head Office. Soorya was born when I and Sasi were at Mumbai. I officially became uncle. Tried to learn German language and cleared primary level. I am here in Mumbai till date and do not hope a transfer unless I change job.
I feel I have added so many pages in life. But obviously i just added pages. My friends filled the pages to make it a book worth reading. Thanks to all.
What about future? Luckily I dont know. There is no point in reading a book where you know the ending. Man has discovered and invented a lot of things, except the ‘next moment’. But thats where the spice of life is. If life permits, I wish to learn more about finance and accounts. When I feel that I am done with corporate life, I wish to join some college and teach. I know God will help me in this.
All be blessed.
i wish, you add more such pages filled happiness, so that i can read it with a sense of satisfaction. it is always gives me pleasure to see you doing good in life.
